Lockdown has been a tense time for us all, staff and students alike. And whilst SRA has been fortunate enough to remain open for classes remotely, we as a team also felt it was important that our students had a chance to chat with the staff about any worries, concerns, or news they wanted to share, especially as they have to remain on mute during class.
And that’s how our Virtual Common Room was born! Every Sunday, Susan Roberts hosts multiple Zoom calls, sometimes with a guest speaker – a few weeks back we were delighted to welcome SRA alumni, Sam Quick, to discuss his experience working as a character in Disneyland Paris as well as potential job opportunities within the performing arts industry – for an end of the week catch-up with the students.
The Virtual Common Room has been a brilliant way for our staff and students to stay connected during this isolating time, as well as with their peers!
The calls are divided by students' age:
Session one
4-7 years old; 16:00-17:00
Session two
8-12 years old; 17:15-18:15
Session three
13+ years; 18:30-19:30
There are still a few more weeks left of the term which means there’s still time to join in!
We hope to see you there,
SRA
